Yesterday Made It All Worthwhile

Yesterday I received a text from my brother, which actually is something all on its own. I’m not saying I don’t hear from my brothers very often, but let’s just say the texts are often “Are you still alive?”

This text was different.

Within a few seconds, I was able to give him a link that would take him to 1250 photos of our mom. Then I got this response. By the way, Miranda is my niece 🙂

I will say that that wasn’t the first time he said that he appreciated what I do, but it’s always nice to hear.

Yesterday was one of those days that made what I do all worthwhile… and all it took was a text.

So the next time you’re doing your genealogy or organizing your photos and you think “who the heck is going to care about all this,” there are or will be others who care. The important thing is that you do it and you put it somewhere accessible.

If you’d like to learn about that … as my brother calls it “that forever account,” you can sign up, and I’ll be your Ambassador. Or you can join my Facebook group “Getting Organized with The Family History Hound”. (If you have Facebook, you will be required to answer the questions to join. )

p.s. My brother did ask about my Dad after, and I sent him a link to 1415 photos of him, as well as a link to a video of our great-great-grandmother’s 80th birthday that I’d digitized a few years ago.
