The 5-Things A Day Challenge

Sometimes I think I do some of my best work early in the morning. Not because I want to get up that early, but because that’s when my internal clock wakes me up. But today I came up with a pretty good idea. Let me run it past you.
Many of us have decluttering challenges, especially if you’re getting older like I am. I’m having a birthday week. Did I mention that? As we age, we start thinking about what we’re going to leave behind, and maybe even what we might have our family deal with when we’re gone. Not that I’m going anywhere shortly, but still, you think about it.
So, I decided what if you just did a challenge of downsizing 5 things each day. Well, if you do the math, you’d have disposed of 1825 things in a year. And I think that would be a great start. Of course, there’ll be days that maybe you’ll do even more than five things, but if you commit to those five things, you’ll be on your way. It’s very much like my idea of working on your photos 15 minutes a day. If you do that every day for a year, it’s over 91 hours, and that always blows people away. So, in both cases it’s a small commitment, but it can have big results if you do commit to it.
So I’ve created a cool calendar that you can print and put on your refrigerator, bulletin board, wherever you post things at your house, and you can keep track of your accomplishments over the next month.
You’ll find it over at the Family History Hound Dog. I hope you’ll get over there, download yours, and see what you can do.
